Sonia Laura Villanueva

Sonia L. Villanueva Gamez, 54, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Ciro Villanueva; her sons, Ciro Villanueva Jr. (Ana Fernanda) and Julio Villanueva; her beloved grandchildren, Maximiliano Villanueva and Skyler Reign Villanueva; her parents, Juan Manuel Gamez and Guadalupe Cavazos; her siblings, Nancy Chapa (Enrique), Miriam A. Soliz (Mauro), Adali Rodriguez (Luis), Eliana Raya (Marcos), Viridiana Borrego (Pablo), Juan Manuel Gamez, and Rosa Elva Gamez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ciro Villanueva, Ciro Villanueva Jr., Julio Villanueva, Juan Manuel Gamez, Mauro Soliz, and Enrique Chapa.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5 to 9pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Rosary will be held at 7pm.

 Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 7 to 8:30am at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. We will be departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30am to Nuestra Señora del Rosario Catholic Church for a Holy Mass at 9am.

 Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery.
