Santa S. Castañeda

Mrs. Santa S. Castañeda, 70, entered into the loving arms of Jesus in his kingdom on September 18, 2023, in Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Antonio and Margarita Saavedra; sisters: Maria de la Luz Hernandez and Maria Concepcion Saavedra; brothers: Eusebio Saavedra, Ramiro Saavedra, Armando Saavedra.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years of marriage: Fernando Castañeda; children: Fernando Castañeda Jr., Abraham Castañeda (Cyndy Ruiz), Diana Castañeda (Heriberto Saldaña); grandchildren: Anthony Castañeda, Damian Saldaña, Aubrianna Saldaña, and Jacob Saldaña, Samantha Mata; siblings: Maria Luisa Palizo, Antonio Saavedra, Carlos Saavedra, David Saavedra, Jose Saavedra; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Gamez and Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, where a Rosary for the eternal repose of her soul will be offered at 6:30 pm.

Funeral procession will depart the chapel at 9:30 am on Friday, September 22, 2023 to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am.

Pall Bearers : Fernando Castañeda, Abraham Castañeda, Fernando Castañeda Jr., Anthony Castañeda, Damian Saldaña, Heriberto Saldaña Jr.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
