Ricardo E. Bunn, 68, was called by the Lord and entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Ricardo was born and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, where he built lifelong friendships that he cherished until his final days. After completing his early studies there, he went on to study medicine and veterinary sciences at the university in Monterrey. Though he was unable to complete his degree, it was in Monterrey where he met the love of his life, Laura, and where they welcomed their first daughter, Erika. The family later returned to Nuevo Laredo, where they raised their two sons, Ian and Eduardo. Seeking a better future for his children, Ricardo made the decision to move his family to the United States, where he worked tirelessly to provide for them.
Ricardo was a man of discipline and high standards, a perfectionist who brought his full effort to everything he did. He set aside his own dreams so that his family could have a life of opportunity, and he never wavered in that commitment. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a role model of strength, integrity, and hard work to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Raymond Bunn & Rebeca De Leon; siblings, Lic. Jorge Arturo Bunn, Elva Leticia Flores (Jesús Pablo).
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Laura P. Bunn; his children, Erika Patricia Rios (Ernesto Enrique), Ian Richard Bunn (Kimberly), and Eduardo Bunn (Krystal Bond); his grandchildren, Laura P. Morales (Erick), Itati M. Villarreal (Erasmo), Julie L. Rios (Cesar Lopez), & Aurora L. Bunn; his great-grandchildren, Leylani L. Lopez and Leonel L. Lopez; his sisters, Mary Helen Bond, Delia Hinojosa (Javier), and Rebeca Bond; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will forever treasure his memory.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 5 to 10pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Liturgy of the Word and Holy Rosary will be celebrated at 7pm.
A cremation will be held at a later date.
