Placida Rios

Mrs. Placida Espinoza Rios, 89, was welcomed by our Lord and Savior into his eternal kingdom of Heaven on Friday, September 12, 2025, having been lovingly surrounded by her loving family at her side. She was born on October 11, 1935, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan de Dios Rios; daughter, Bertha Rios; parents: Clemente and Demetria Espinoza.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Juan Enrique Rios, Patricia (Santiago) Rodriguez Jr., Imelda (Gabriel) Rios Vargas, Norma (Sean) Livie, Juan de Dios Rios Jr., Irma (Daniel) Maldonado, Ana Belia (Alberto) Ruiz, Dolores (James) Whitaker, Maria Isabel (Ricardo) Rios Castillo, San Juana Rios; 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Armando Espinoza, Ella Espinoza, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will gather to receive condolences on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5 to 9 pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Rosary will be recited for the repose of her soul at 7 pm.

Final viewing will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 7 am until 9:30 am at the funeral home. Procession will depart the fuenral home at 9:30 am to Santo Niño Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, with Father Joel Perez de la Fuente.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
