Mario C. Cavazos

Mario C. Cavazos, 84, of Laredo, Texas, passed away on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend whose kindness and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.

Mario is survived by his wife, Siria Cavazos; his children, Mario (Michelle) Cavazos, Leonor (David) Jambor, Luis Cavazos, and David Cavazos. He was a proud grandfather to Susan A. Cavazos, Mario “MJ” Cavazos Jr, Carlos A. Cavazos, and Jesus A. “Muscleman” Cavazos; a great-grandfather to Emma G. Cavazos; his niece, Adriana Cavazos Rodriguez and nephew, Oscar Cavazos III.

Mario proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated many years of service to the United States Department of Agriculture. He approached both roles with honor, hard work, and dedication. He found great joy in the outdoors and especially loved fishing and hunting. A true Texan at heart, Mario had a passion for horses, enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, and possessed a remarkable talent for crafting beautiful furniture made of Longhorns.Those who knew Mario will remember his hard work, dependable nature, and wonderful sense of humor. He treasured his friendships and deeply loved his family. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. Mario will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 5 to 9pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Rosary will be held at 7pm.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 10am. Everyone is encouraged to meet at the City of Laredo Cemetery.
