Maria Teresa Fuentes

Maria Teresa Fuentes, age 74, was called home peacefully on Thursday February 15, 2024, after a recent gradual decline in health.

Tere, as she was lovingly known was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas and was a graduate of Tirsa Martin High School.

Throughout her entire working career, Tere was an LISD school nurse at schools including Memorial Middle School and Nixon High School until her retirement in 2016.

Tere was a loving mother of 5, who was known for her generous, patient, loving and caring ways. She was unselfish and relentless in giving her all to her family and loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy that demonstrates the true strength and dignity of virtuous woman. She will lovingly be remembered for her contagious laugh and her selfless giving. Tere will be greatly missed by her children and their families as well as other family members and friends who knew her and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alizandro and Juanita Martinez.

Her siblings, Jose Alizandro Martinez, Martin Jesus Martinez, Maria Guadalupe (Martinez) Dominguez, Maria del Rosario (Martinez) Reyna and Martha Lara.

Her husband of 49 years, Raul Fuentes Fuentes.

She is survived by her children Camelia Gonzalez: (Ernesto +), Raul Fuentes Jr, Abraham Fuentes (Laura), Joanna (John) Leal, Lizandra (Mario) Gloria.

Grandchildren: Kassandra Toledo, Abraham Fuentes Jr., Klaritza Fuentes, John Leal Jr., Karina Fuentes, Damian Peña, Jessica Leal, Mario Gloria, Raul Gloria, Jenna Leal, Rafael Axel Gloria.

Great-grandchildren: Abraham Fuentes III, Karolina Molina, Jose Toledo, Kaitlyn Alaniz, Katarina Toledo, Hailey Mae Leal, Azrael Delgado, and Jonathan Toledo
