Mrs. Maria del Carmen Castañon, was welcomed into God's heavenly garden on August 16, 2023, having been surrounded by all her family at her side at her residence in Rio Bravo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Felipe Venegas and Genoveva Robledo; siblings: Juan Jose Venegas Robledo, Maria Isidra Venegas Robledo; daughters: Maria C. Venegas, Maria del Carmen Venegas, Victoria Aleman Robledo; grandchildren: Mariana Lizete Martinez Castanon, Juan Alberto Granados, Sr.; great-grandson: Juan Alberto Granados Jr.

Left behind to cherish and celebrate her memory are her children: Veronica Castanon Venegas (Cesar Rocha Hernandez), Nancy Castanon Venegas (Jose Luis Mendez Espinoza, Haydee Castanon Venegas (Juan Pablo Arizpe), Erika Castanon Venegas (Jorge Vidal Leyva Rodriguez); grandchildren: Claudia V. Martinez Castanon, Mariana L. Martinez Castanon, Miriam B. Martinez Castanon, Martin Rocha (Kassandra), Cesar A. The family will receive condolences on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 pm, offered by her family.

All services will conclude at the end of the visitation to proceed to a cremation at a later date.
