Lucrecia "Kecha" De Leon

Lucrecia "Kecha" De Leon, 81, was called by the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose & Lucrecia Ruiz; sister, Rosa Luna.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Rafael "Shorty" De Leon; her children, Antelmo De Leon (Gabriela), Claudia Rodriguez (Cuitlahuac), and Rafael De Leon Jr.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Juan Ruiz (Mavi), Maria G. Ruiz; and her brother-in-law, Alberto Luna Jr.

She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will greatly miss her.

Pallbearers will be Antelmo De Leon, Rafael De Leon Jr., Aaron Izaguirre, Ernesto Rafael Izaguirre, Ana Sofia Huro-De Leon, and Anacleto De Luna.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 5 to 9pm. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, where a Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm.

Funeral services will continue on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The time and location of the Funeral Mass are currently pending.

Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery on 3600 McPherson Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041, where Mrs. De Leon will be laid to rest.
