Julia Ortiz Castañeda

Julia Ortiz Castañeda, 70, passed away on May 18, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jocelyn Ortiz; her parents; and numerous siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Norberto Ortiz; her children, Marlin Garcia (David Padilla), Norberto Ortiz Jr., and Roxanne Rodriguez (Pablo); her grandchildren, David Padilla, Marilyn Padilla, Brenda Padilla, Isaac Cabrera, and Sean Rodriguez; her brother, Juan Cortez; as well as other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 12 to 3pm, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 1:30pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services 1029 Bob Bullock Loop Laredo, Texas 78043.

Cremation will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services.
