Enriqueta Ines Gonzalez, 60, aka “Queta” was born in January 21, 1960 in Laredo, Texas and passed away April 24, 2020 due to COVID-19.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio and Dominga Ledesma; siblings, Pedro Ledesma, Silvano Ledesma, Anastacio Ledesma Jr., and Gregoria Ledesma.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 41 years, Juan Arnulfo Gonzalez Vasquez; daughter, Jesseña Arlett Gonzalez Ledesma (Juan Alfonso Valdez Velasquez, spouse); also, survived by her grandchildren: Jesselee Arlett Valdez Gonzalez and Janelee Aislin Valdez Gonzalez; niece, Dianita Ledesma; siblings: Maria Florinda Ledesma, Antonio (Guadalupe) Ledesma, San Juanita (Reymundo) Reyes Jesus Paulino Ledesma, Dominga (Martin) Saucedo, and Juan (Margarita) Ledesma, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Enriqueta was a certified nurse assistant (CNA) and an activity director where she worked at Laredo Medical Center for 30 years. She was a front-line worker. She worked hard with a beautiful heart and strong beliefs.
“I am very proud of my wife, I admire her, and she will always live in my heart for as long as I live. She will forever be the love of my life,” said Mr. Gonzalez Enriqueta’s husband.
“My mom was always very happy; her smile would light up a room. Her laughter and fun spirit would bring joy. She was a wonderful grandmother to her two grandchildren. She was a hard working woman. I admire her courage. She will always be in our hearts; her grandchildren will miss her, so will we. My mother is now our guardian Angel,” said Enriqueta’s daughter.
“My mother-in-law was a wonderful person, she loved me like I was her son, she treated everyone with love and respect, she was like my second mother,” said Enriqueta’s son-in-law.
Enriqueta’s daughter would like to extend her love and deepest gratitude to all her family, especially to SNU (Skilled Nursing Unit) to whom her mother considered her second family. Thank you to Doctor Cigarroa, Doctor Corral, and to all the nurses and staff at LMC (Laredo Medical Center) who cared and loved my mother dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. Procession will be held immediately after to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, where a mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow to the Memorial Gardens of Laredo Cemetery.
