Carmen Salazar

Carmen Salazar, 88, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose & Germana Salazar; siblings, Ofilia Salazar, Rita I. Salazar.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Maria Teresa “Maite” (Geronimo) Ochoa; grandchildren, Charlie Vera Jr. (April White), Rebecca (Joe) Soriano, Henry Vela II; great grandson, C. Joseph Vera; niece, Rosa (Luis) Mendez, numerous other family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 where funeral home doors will open at 7:00 a.m. Procession will depart at 8:30 a.m. from Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where a mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will follow directly to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. G. Garza Lozano and Laredo Nursing and Rehab for all their love, care, and attention given to Carmelita.

In accordance with city ordinance, the number of visitors will be limited to 50 percent occupancy capacity. Please feel free to wait in your vehicle for a turn if the funeral home reaches capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the building and use hand sanitizer provided upon entry. Visitors must provide their own face covering.  Anyone that is knowingly sick or has upper respiratory illness is asked to stay home and may be denied entry.
