Belinda "Belly" Herrera

Belinda “Belly” Herrera, 54, passed away on September 1, 2026, in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by the love and presence of her family and loved ones.

Affectionately known to so many as “Belly,” Belinda lived her life with an open heart, a generous spirit, and a genuine zest for life. She was the kind of person who rarely needed convincing when family or friends came calling with an invitation. Her answer was usually an enthusiastic “Yes!” “¡Vamos!” or “Let’s go!” She believed life was meant to be enjoyed, and some of her happiest moments were simply being surrounded by the people she loved.

A proud 1990 graduate of J.W. Nixon High School, Belly later attended Laredo Junior College, where she pursued studies in accounting. She carried those skills throughout her professional life, working with various companies in accounting, bookkeeping, and operations. She was hardworking, dependable, and always willing to lend a helping hand wherever and however she could.

Belly had a special love for the music and memories of the 1990s, especially old-school Tejano music and the dance halls where she spent many wonderful nights dancing and enjoying life. She was also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, proudly cheering on her team through every win, every loss, and every season.

Those who knew Belly also knew how much she loved good food. A true “foodie,” she especially loved Mexican food and enjoyed discovering a good meal almost as much as she enjoyed sharing one with family and friends.

Above all, Belly will be remembered for her giving heart. She was always ready to help someone in need, whether family, friend, or anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. She was honored to serve as godmother to many children of relatives and friends, a reflection of the special place she held in the lives of so many.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ernesto and Sylvia Herrera.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Cynthia Herrera Treviño (Art) and Ana Laura Herrera; her beloved nephew, Peyton Treviño; as well as numerous other relatives, godchildren, and dear friends.

Belly leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter, music, good food, friendship, and love. Those who loved her will remember her enthusiasm for life, her willingness to help others, and that familiar invitation to enjoy the moment—“¡Vamos! Let’s go!”

Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and joy she shared so freely will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In celebration of Belly’s life casual attire is welcome. Better yet come dressed in your favorite Dallas Cowboy attire as we honor & celebrate Belly in a way she would have loved.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services from 5 pm to 9 pm. 

Mariachi Azteca of Laredo will perform at 6:30 pm, a gift to all from Belly.

Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm by Deacon Richard Gonzalez.

Visitation will continue Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services starting at 7 am.

Mass time pending at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Services conclude at the end of mass. Cremation will be held at a later date.
