Angel Flores

Angel Flores, 67, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2026 at his home in Encinal, TX. Born March 28, 1959 in East Chicaago, IN. Angel was raised in Gary, Indiana in a small community known as Cowboy Town. This community was a virtual playground where Angel learned to swim, hunt, and work on cars. Although he did not have formal training, he was a very knowledgeable and skilled mechanic.

While living in Gary, Angel was known to have a passion for fireworks, gambling and race cars. Angel was known as the go to guy for the kind of fireworks you could not get at the local fireworks stand. As far as gambling goes, back in Gary, he ran a small time gambling house that was always jam packed. He loved to go to races of all kinds, drag strip and NASCAR were his favorites.

He relocated to Encinal, Texas over 30 years ago. After relocating to Texas to help out his mom and dad on the family ranch (Flying Moon), he became an over the road truck driver. He frequently visited friends and family in Laredo, TX. During those times, he met Socorro Jimenez. Their relationship led to the birth of their beautiful daughter Judy Jimenez. Angel was very proud of Judy, sharing pictures and stories of her with his siblings all the time.

Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro (Pete) Flores & Silvestra Flores, siblings; Belinda, Pedro Jr. (Pete), Santos (Frankie), Abel, and Jose Flores.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy Jimenez; siblings, Mary Lou Flores, Melida (Jesse) Ramos, Leonor Martinez, Silvia (Tim) Burke, Mario, Eddie (Ruthy) Flores, a bunch of nieces, and nephews who loved Angel very much.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 3:30 to 6:30pm at Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services located on 1029 Bob Bullock Loop Ste 1, Laredo Tx., where a chapel service will be held at 5:30pm.

Cremation will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services.
